My Morning Routine

I’ve gotten tons of questions recently about our morning routine, and since I love being little nosy and “peeking” into what other girls’ days look like I thought I would share mine today!  Since having Rhett, my mornings have looked a little different, but I still try to get ready most days.  Personally, I find that I feel better about myself and it actually helps me get more accomplished during the day.  Don’t get me wrong, I love days where I just stay in my pajamas all day and definitely do have those, but this is just what has been working for us most recently!

And speaking of pajamas, I have been obsessed with the Soma Cool Nights pajamas for years.  My mom actually asked for them for Christmas quite a few years ago and I ended up buying her them, as well as a pair for myself 😂.  Since then, they have been my favorite thing to wear to bed because they keep you from getting hot at all.  The fabric is so stretchy and soft (you seriously have to feel it to believe it!) .  They come in all different patterns and cuts including pants, shorts, tees, tanks, nightgowns, etc. that you can mix and match.

So needless to say, when they asked to partner with me to promote how great these pajamas are for the warm Summer months (but honestly, all year long!), I jumped at the opportunity!  This leopard print tee and pants set are new, and I got them just last week and am in love!  The cropped pants are perfect for Summer and they have the cutest little tulip hem detail to them.  I’m also loving this palm print set for Summer too!

Our Morning Routine

7:00 am – I either wake Rhett up or this is the time he usually wakes up on his own.

7:10 am – I bring Rhett into my room and feed him.  We typically will then lay in bed and play for a while after.

7:45 am – This is the time I typically get up, take Ryleigh outside, and then start getting ready.  I have been showering at night most nights, so I can get right into my hair & makeup routine in the morning.  I put Rhett into this little seat on my bathroom counter while I am getting ready.  For some reason, I always start with makeup first!  You can see my everyday makeup routine HERE.

8:10 am – Rhett gets pretty fussy by now and is ready for his first nap.  By this time, I am generally finished (or almost finished) with my makeup.  It takes a bit longer now that I am trying to entertain him while doing it…haha 😂.  I pause my getting ready and go put him down in his crib.

8:15 am – Back to getting ready!  This is the time I will curl/touch up my hair and then get dressed.

8:45 am – Make my bed.  I used to be so much better about making our bed every day, and am trying to pick the habit back up again.  There’s something so big and purposeful about starting your day with a freshly made bed and it really helps get my whole day started on the right track.  It’s such a simple practice that makes a huge difference!  Try it out!

9:00 am – Now is when I typically try to hop on Stories, start answering emails and get a jump start on my work day.  Rhett’s first nap is generally his longest and I can usually get a good hour worth of work in!

That’s all!  Pretty simple, but that’s what has been working for us these past five months.  I’m really wanting to try waking up before Rhett at 6am now that he is on a consistent, predictable sleep schedule and get a devotional in during the morning hours because that really sets my day up for success.  This is my favorite devotional!

Let me know any of your favorite tips to get your morning started right!

What are the wake times you have for Rhett? It looks like 1 hot and 15 minutes for the first wake time, but how many males does he take and how long is he up for after that?

Nice routine! What does Rhett’s sleep schedule look like? My girl is about a month younger than you and I am wondering what I should be aiming for with day naps, wake times, and night sleep.

      Hi Alli,

Rhett sleeps from 7:30pm to 7:30am and takes 3-4 naps during the day!
